School Bucks® coupon books have become a traditional way for Lee County’s public schools to raise funds for special projects and a good way for thousands of individuals to invest in the public schools.
For just $15 each, the buyer purchases coupons worth more than $1,200 at local businesses and restaurants, and makes a donation to their schools at the same time. The books are sold at every public school in Lee County and also by individual students, who vie for county- and school-wide prizes.
Since the program began in Lee County, more than $2.8 million has been raised for school programs. The books are on sale, became available in December and are called "School Bucks, Coupons for Education". Approximately 75% of the purchase price of every book stays in Lee County to benefit Lee County public schools.
The sale of School Bucks® coupon books begins January 7, 2008.
