FutureMakers is an educational program that aims to inspire more high school seniors to take the next step after graduation.
The success of the program is measured by the percentage of seniors who have filled out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application is used not only for student loans but for scholarships, grants, and work-study programs. We believe that increasing the number of high school seniors that fill out the FAFSA will increase the number of students taking the next step after graduation, including college, vocational training or a specialized certification program.
The program is currently available to students at all thirteen Lee County high schools and is designed to educate and provide resources to high school sophomores and juniors on pre-graduation financial aid requirements and post-secondary opportunities. Students are provided guidance, information, and workshop events on various topics including financial aid, scholarships, and vocational training.
