The Foundation’s partnerships with the private sector have allowed us to create and operate programs and initiatives that give students and teachers in Lee County public schools the opportunity to excel. We support students and families who are in financial need, provide educators the necessary resources for an effective learning environment, and reward students and educators who prove their excellence.
Modeled after Jeopardy, the A-Team Challenge is a single-elimination academic competition developed by The Foundation and NBC-2.
The purpose of the A-Team Challenge is to encourage, promote and spotlight academic achievement and excellence among area high school students.
Bullying generally begins in the elementary grades, peaks in the 6th – 8th grades and persists into high school (CDC, 2009 & US Dept. of Education & Justice 2001). Through the Kleist Health Education Center’s interactive programs, students are given the opportunity to participate in “real life” situations depicting different types of bullying and/or harassment, why people bully and the consequences of bullying.
