Partners in Education is a very important program for our schools. Partners in Education works directly with the business community in three areas: Business Partners Program, School Resource Center and Mentoring Program.

  • Business Partners: This is an initiative that encourages a business or organization to invest in a Lee County public school by pledging to provide it with time, talent, dollars and/or other resources for a school year. Since no one business can meet all the schools needs, the schools form several partnerships with local businesses which help in important areas. Each September, The Foundation hosts its annual Partners in Education Business Partner Appreciation Breakfast to recognize and thank the hundreds of businesses who have formed partnerships with our public schools.

  • Mentors: The Foundation offers a variety of mentoring opportunities. In the elementary and middle schools, mentors meet weekly with selected students to help with reading, writing or math skills. In high schools, mentors meet every other week with students participating in the Take Stock in Children program. The Foundation accepts applications, matches the mentor with a student, provides mentor training and provides support for the student-mentor relationship.

  • School Resource Center: The School Resource Center accepts useable items no longer needed by local businesses and individuals, and makes them available to public school teachers at no charge. The centrally located School Resource Center stocks thousands of items, from furniture and computers to books and craft materials. The School Resource Center is open to Lee County School District teachers on a regular schedule during the school year. To make a donation or arrange to drop off items, call the Foundation at 337-0433. All donations are tax deductible and receive a letter of documentation.
