Teachers who rank highly in the Golden Apple selection process each year are invited to participate in a weeklong seminar in June at South Seas Resort on Captiva Island.

This seminar, called the Collegium for the Advancement of Education, focuses on Quality Training.  This training assists the teachers in the areas of decision-making, conflict resolution, prioritization and professional presentations.  The result is more empowered educators.

The highlight of the week is when the teachers put their skills to work by making presentations to a “Mock School Board” made up of community and business leaders.

In 2004 year The Foundation developed a Part 2 Collegium enabling teachers to return to South Seas to further their Quality Training.
