FORT MYERS, FL:The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools invites students and their parents to participate in the 2016 STEMtastic Day of Discovery being held at Harborside Event Center on Saturday, February 13th from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. This annual event is free to the public and aims to introduce more students and their parents to the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The event drew more than 5,000 attendees in 2015.

Held in partnership with The School District of Lee County and the Edison Festival of Light, STEMtastic Day of Discovery allows families the opportunity to participate in high-profile indoor and outdoor interactives areas featuring STEM-related exhibits, games, and presentations by a number of regional and national organizations, as well as Lee County District schools. The event also highlights the artistic talents of many local children through musical, acrobatic, and theatrical performances on the community stage.

“For our children to be competitive in a global marketplace, it is imperative that they pursue an education rich in STEM-related courses,” says Marshall T. Bower, President & CEO of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. “STEMtastic exposes them to both STEM education and career opportunities in order to pursue the STEM jobs of today and tomorrow.”

This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors: Suncoast Credit Union, Chico’s FAS, and Lee Memorial Health System, in addition to grant funding from the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations and AT&T.
